Mabel Chua Headshot

Mabel Chua - Board Chair

Mabel holds a Master of Laws, Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in accounting and finance. Prior to becoming the Managing Director of M 6:8 Legal in Perth, Australia, Mabel was a partner at a multi-disciplinary boutique legal practice. She has served in various leadership capacities in her local church and in the Christian community. Mabel has also been serving on the Compassion Australia Board since 2012.

Lawrence Chua - Vice Chair

Lawrence is the Board Director of Sgital and Ripplecreate and has over 20 years’ experience in leadership and innovation across global technology companies. Lawrence has a heart for transformation and impact and is committed to empowering start-ups through mentorship, investment and governance. He resides in Singapore with his wife and two children. He actively serves at Covenant Evangelical Free Church.

Lilian Chung - Treasurer

Lilian has over 20 years’ experience in marketing and is the former National Director of World Vision Singapore. She holds a Bachelor of Arts majoring in economics and statistics from the National University of Singapore. Lilian has a wealth of experience in technology and telecommunications industries, and she is passionate about working with cross-cultural teams to pioneer in unchartered areas.

Isaac Moody - Board Member

Isaac has a group of businesses in hospitality, agriculture and property, which enables him to volunteer for ministries like Compassion and maintain strong community involvement in the Toowoomba region of Australia. He has also been serving on the Board of Compassion Australia since 2008. Isaac is married to Mel and together they have six young children.

Kent Medwin - Board Member

Kent has been in business for over 25 years. He is the Managing Director of Rock Property Australia and Head of Strategy for Hillsong Church Australia. He has also been serving on the Board of Compassion Australia since 2010. Kent is passionate about seeing change, growth and empowering others to impact their sphere. He resides in Melbourne, Australia with his wife and three children.

Irene Chong - Partnerships Director

Irene is a people-oriented leader with a background in the property and finance sector. She holds a Master of Public Administration from Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, where she received the Dean’s Leadership Award (Second Prize). Irene is also a Board Director in various large non-profit organisations in Singapore. As a strategic thinker, she is driven to connect people with Compassion’s ministry to see more children released from poverty.
